My Passions

Advertising -
I enjoy working as an Art Director conceptualizing, designing and creating memorable advertising campaigns. It's very satisfying to see a brochure design, logo design or direct mail design in print after a long process of research, ideation and hard work.

Audio Books -
I exercise 3 to 5 times a week. While jogging, I enjoy listening to motivational audio books. Favorite motivational speaker: Zig Ziglar, Earl Nightingale, Dale Carnegie.

Huntington Beach Pier Fishing

Fishing -
As a stress reliever, fishing at the Huntington Beach Pier is bar none. The length of the pier is more than 1,800 feet and has the best view of the coastline. The picturesque Pacific Ocean can easily lull anyone to a deep calmness within. Until, suddenly you hear your reel screams not unlike that of a micro mini jet engine. And then you scramble to hang on to your rod! Fish on!

It is not uncommon to see a 3 feet diameter Bat ray or a Leopard Shark on the other end, and your fishing rod bends like a twig while your reel smokes and cries out for mercy!

However, the best part of fishing to me is not about catching a fish. The fun is all in the waiting, relaxing and being at one with nature.

Beneath the pier, is the surfer's paradise. Huntington Beach is also known as Surf City USA. It's wonderful to see the surfers riding on powerful waves, swells after swells almost defying gravity.

Occasionally, you can spot a sea lion or dolphin swimming by. The positive energy harness at the pier, creates an aura that helps me to relax and inspires me to newer creative ideas in my designs.

My Hobbies and Special Interest

Reading -
I love to read creative articles on brochure design, business card design, logo design, direct mail design, corporate identity, advertising or graphic designs in general. This keeps me in touch with the latest trends within the advertising industry.

Huntington Beach Bike Trai

Biking -
The Huntington Beach Bicycles Trail is about 8 miles in length and runs parallel to the Pacific Coast Highway. It may be one of the nicest bicycle trail In Los Angeles. During sunset, the orange sky burst with amazing colors of orange and fiery crimson red.

I get a good workout when I am cycling on the Huntington Beach Bike Trail and at the same time mesmerized by the breathtaking view of the oceanfront.

Santa Ana River Trai

When I am in shape, I would go on the nearby 80 miles Santa Ana River Trail. Some sections on this trail are teeming with wild life. And there are even folks who uses this river trail to commute to and fro from their jobs. It's a great way to save on gas! Beware though, that the speed limit now is only 10 mph. This is largely because of joggers and family strolling with kids who shares the same trail.

Photography -
I have a set of Elinchrom studio lights which I use for experimenting with indoor studio lighting on products. I learned a lot of photographic techniques from working with various professional photographers during my photo shoot sessions as an Art Director, ranging from live model for retail fashions to beverages.

Watercolor -
Whenever I come upon barns and farm houses, I would photograph and use them as my subject for watercolor painting. The light and shadow that cast on these lands produces some amazing photographic opportunities. They inspire me to pick up a brush and start painting.
